Quirindi

A service hub to the surrounding region, Quirindi is situated on a plateau in the Liverpool Ranges, 390m above sea-level and at the southern edge of the Liverpool Plains.

The first squatters settled in the area a few years before Quirindi Station was established in 1830. The station became a popular stopping point for passing teamsters and slowly evolved into the town site. Today, it is home to over 3,300 people.

The name “Quirindi” comes from the Gamilaraay language and means “a nest in the hills”.
